Comprehensive Plan

This comprehensive plan is the result of hundreds of meetings during which time the campus was analyzed, core challenges identified, principles developed, a conceptual plan vetted, and precinct studies explored. The resulting plan is built upon the seven core principles to create a walking campus through incremental infill of buildings establishing a new interconnected sequence of open spaces, paths and quadrangles. This is all done with the understanding that we must continue to meet the functional needs of parking, traffic, safety and service throughout the campus. Ultimately then, it is the purpose of this plan to identify a rational and orderly placement of buildings to accommodate both current and unforeseen needs all within the responsibility of Emory's existing landholdings, such that Emory can continue to grow and change with an increased measure of order, efficiency, and beauty now and in the future.

This plan and accompanying perspectives is a glimpse of what Emory can evolve into - an interconnected collegial setting with a coherence of its buildings and grounds, such that it creates a true intellectual community.
